Social media and digital anonymity is breeding divisiveness, and the beast needs to be caught and tamed. To do that, we'll need to accept free speech =/= a right to anonymity; and we'll need to roll up our sleeves and fight for the internet with and on the internet.

De-anonymizing high-impact actors, holding people accountable for their virtual behavior, creating new charges specific to digital crimes, and treating the web like the global jurisdiction it is, is how we start finally building governance that matches the scale of the thing we unleashed.

It's crucial we get this right, and quickly, building global governance before profit-motivated AI pushes us collectively past the point of no return.
